The Decline in Democratic Daliances

In the quality of the dalliee, that is. President Kennedy is rumored to have bedded beautiful Marylin Monroe and Judith Exner.

President Clinton failed to get the slightly less than stunningly beautiful Paula Jones in bed and had only a particular type of sex with the slightly less than svelte Monica Lewinsky.

The execrable Eliot Spitzer had to pay for it.

At least this Democratic sex scandal had some sex.

A Connection Unmade

Our favorite property law professor/columnist, Paul Campos, compares in today's RM News, disgraced former Idaho senator Larry Craig to Republican front funner Rudy Giuliani, and says Giuliani is the worse guy, because of his "serial monogamy" and several years of increasingly scandalous behavior, that included a barely-hidden affair with one of his own employees, and marching in the St. Patrick's Day parade with his mistress of the moment.

Campos closes the loop--[Giuliani's] supporters will forget that they're supposed to consider a man who shamelessly flaunts his adulterous affairs to be far more reprehensible than someone who tries desperately to hide his failure to live up to their moral code.

Oh, so people who have adulterous affairs are morally reprehensible? Let's see, what presidents since 1960 have had numerous adulterous affairs both before and during their administration? Wait, it'll come to me.

Campos is infamous for having the opinion that weight loss "mania" fueled the impeachment of President Clinton, but it is difficult to find a word of reproach from the professor for infidelity in a marriage involving Democrats. Perhaps it's out there, but Google didn't turn it up.
