A Losing Proposition

I did not do anything to show that the anti-Bush story on the gone but not missed Wednesday 60 Minutes broadcast in September 2004 was all lies based on easy to detect forgeries, but I watched it happen in real time with Buckhead's realization and the work of Power Line and the now unreadable Little Green Footballs. I did not read the documents CBS posted on its website. The guys mentioned above did. Anyway, the broadcast was soon revealed to be fraudulent, the documents recently typed on a computer using Word (and not on an early 70s typewriter) and the producer Mary Mapes and others were fired for their fraud and Dan Rather slowly put out to pasture. It was a journalistic trainwreck quickly and properly debunked. The official investigation into it is bad enough (www.cbsnews.com/htdocs/pdf/...report/CBS_Report.pdf) but read this too for context.

That was then, this is now. The left is attempting to rewrite history in the Orwellian titled movie Truth. It makes the perpetrators of the fraud into heroes and sidesteps the fact that everything they asserted was a lie and the documents they relied on completely fraudulent.

So, now that Truth is in over a thousand theaters since Friday, how's it doing in the box office? Horribly is the short answer. Although it is 16th for the weekend take, it only averaged a pitiful $781 per screen. In the top 29 only Rock the Kasbah and Jem and the Holograms are doing worse. Rotten Tomatoes rates it bad 57 and 59 scores for reviews and movie goer satisfaction.

Another lefty propaganda movie going down in flames.

You can't fool all the people all the time.
