Au Contraire

Soon to be a former State Department Spokesman Marie Harf said on Chris Matthews' little watched show recently regarding our efforts to rid the World of IS savages:

But we cannot win this war by killing them. We cannot kill our way out of this war.
She is completely wrong. The only way to win a war is to kill enough of the enemy that they no longer can or want to continue fighting.

The moronic disbelief in the real world by Obama Administration personnel is mindboggling.

It is not that I am opposed to killing them, however, until there is some method of killing their ability to recruit, we cannot kill our way out of this situation. These guys are like leafy spurge.

We'll have leafy spurge long after these guys are dust. Kill a lot of them and recruiting will decline.

I am not an expert on Islam, however, with martyrdom playing the role it does and the promise of a hereafter that trumps the present for many recruits, I think your prognosis is optimistic, if not actually the rose color glasses variety. It would make me very happy to be wrong.

Although there were some willing to die martyrs for the cause early in the 2nd Intifada, eventually they ran out of volunteers and had to utilize the mentally deficient. If joining IS is a solid death sentence, they'll run out of the ready to die types too.
