I've Been Looking at the Site Meter

And I've decided that I need to modify Dartmouth College's motto for this blog. Vox Clamantis in Deserto Lectoris--A voice crying in the desert of readers. Oh well, being read is secondary to being right. Or so I rationalize.

Roger,

W/ all due respect. Fewer are listening to vox tua b/c you are ignoring the big three and refusing to give readers what they crave: 1. sex; 2. drugs; 3. Rock 'n Roll.

Where are the salacious Latin translations of yesteryear? Whereas I no longer expect tidbits into your sex life, couldn't we have a comment about the octuplets whose mother already had 6 children between ages 2 and 7? Surely there is food for thought there.

Drugs, alas, are ever w/ us. What about a comment on the poppy economy in Afghanistan that supports the Taliban? Should we forgiven Rush Limbaugh his transgresions as we have forgiven Cindy McCain's hers? (Answer: "No." Cindy McCain's worse crime after rehab was insisting on dressing to yiung for her age while Rush Limbaugh is a fat rodent that millions of Americans have turned into a demi god.)

Rock 'n Roll. I don't care what the people say. Why glaze our eyes w/ tedious statistics regarding CO2? Why did you not invite your readers to submit a play list for Bruce Springsteen's half time show?

It seems that every month we lose a few memebers of the iconic bands of our youth. Pay them tribute.

I think you may accomplish all of this w/o losing any integrity as these subjects are not new to this blog. Rediscover your roots.

Fidus lector tuus.

Or it could just be that there were no fresh posts for a week while Roger was off goldbricking.

Then again, sex, drugs and rock 'n roll never hurt.

Hey, maybe Roger could just post this Ian Dury video.

Thanks for the helpful hints, T, and for the kind words. We're below 250 but not by a whole lot. We wanted to be at 500/day. The pity party started when I noticed that a recent small decline in the numbers started when I returned from the honeymoon and started writing again. Ouch. Sex and drugs and rock and roll. Got it. There is a soft spot in my heart for Ian Dury and the Blockheads.
