Why Much of the Carbon Dioxide on Mars is Solid

The Sun looks smaller than the moon from Mars; so it's pretty cold there, cold enough to make dry ice as well as real ice at the poles.

I know that this most recent robot landing site is interesting as heck to the scientists, but it has the inspirational impact of a rotten egg.

I really want us to go to Mars. The sooner the better; but there will never be a groundswell of public support for such a dangerous and expensive venture if we only keep going to the parts of Mars that look like Nebraska, but without the interesting vegetation.
