The Real Democratic Position on Iraq

Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC), a Majority Whip, made some statements yesterday that perhaps he regrets in the cold light of morning. As reported in the Washington Post, Clyburn said, "a strongly positive report on progress on Iraq by Army Gen. David Petraeus likely would split Democrats in the House and impede his party's efforts to press for a timetable to end the war." Clyburn also said that positive news from Iraq would be a real big problem for us. The 'us' in the previous statement was the Democrats.

So let's review: Good news of success of our military forces in Iraq is a real big problem for the Democrats.

Can I question their patriotism now?

There's no misunderstanding those words.

EP, I have to agree.

Okay - let's look for some of the stupidest comments made by republicans recently and generalize them to defame ALL republicans. That's how reasonable your comment about "their patriotism" appears - just plain dumb.

But anon, this statement was not from just any Democrat, but it was from the Majority Whip in the House, a leader (of the Democrats) for the people's direct representatives. Go ahead and find what you think are stupid statements from Boehner or Cantor and we'll be happy to discuss them in a new post. I assume, however, that silence will follow this invitation. Tosser.

Notice the same guy that bailed Jr out from his bankruptcy is now bankrolling Hillary. Why do people still think that there is really any difference between the two parties? Hillary spent the last few years crafting "Bi-partisan bills", voted for almost everything the Pres. wanted, her hubby spends more time at the Bush compound that Jr does. Hillary geting MORE corporate money than republicans put together? Helloooo? I's aways said that The Republicans don't want you to be able to afford guns and the Dems don't want you to be able to buy guns. Notice STILL ZERO investigations by Dems or media of price gouging or racketeering of oil, energy, and gas prices? Fear and hate keep this country divided agaist each other instead of focusing on the illegal acts of our government employees...er... masters. Proof? Ever hear of a Bush, Noriega, or Saddam getting assassinated? Reagan was trying to start a huge peace initiative when he got hit by a bullet that hit his limo. Everyone around him got shot tho! Peace initiative stopped immediately. But you constantly hear of union activists, MLK, the Kennedies, and peace activists all getting killed without much investigation, usually with sealed records. Even the 9-11 records were sealed. Please get some REAL complaints.
