Proof of Global Warming

Seaman Recruits Jamal Powell, left, and Stephen Harmon stand the forward lookout watch aboard the guided-missile cruiser USS Normandy (CG 60) as the ship navigates through an ice field in the Arctic Circle north of Iceland on June 12, 2007. DoD photo by Lt. j.g. Ryan Birkelbach, U.S. Navy.

Wait, what's with all that ice in the water?

R,

Perhaps formerly at this time of year it was solid ice?

You mean "what's with all the water in this ice?"

It is interesting to note that Antarctica is a continent surrounded by seas, while the Arctic is a sea surrounded by continents. The sea ice gets about a meter deep and no thicker (while the ice down south is miles deep). It melts and refreezes through the year. I've see nuke submarines break ice to be at the north pole and I've seen them come up in a sea with ice like in the picture. They don't say how far north of Iceland the ship was, so we don't know if this is unnatural or not. My comment was because I doubt the ship is that far north and most Warmies believe in mid June, there is no ice at all in the Arctic ocean. Tony asks the right question at least, while Andy, secure in his beliefs, thinks its proof of his Weltanschau.

I'm with Tony. Used to be an ice sheet.

Yeah, in the WINTER!
