Thought of the Day

The great virtue of a free market system is that it does not care what color people are; it does not care what their religion is; it only cares whether they can produce something you want to buy. It is the most effective system we have discovered to enable people who hate one another to deal with one another and help one another.

Comments:
So developing trade relationships with Gaza would be a good idea. Blockade=bad idea.

According to your post, that is.

Mike, I'd support trade with Gaza if the Palestinians had anything to sell and any money to pay for our goods in return. I never liked semi-warlike "sanctions". Fight hard or don't fight; quit wasting time with a half-assed chimera of trade and war.

S. I've read through the beaurocratese and it's no sale. Color is a distinct subset of race not a thing different from race (it's the thing you see first and usually names the race (eg. black white, yellow and red man) and the example about dark or light skin blacks is not an esthetic preference for a skin hue but some very dark blacks believe that the lighter skin colors are a result of race mixing and don't like it; while other black people think the light skinned blacks are smarter and more industrious. That's still back to race. If you had a redneck hating aborigines from Australia because he believed they were Africans--maybe that would be a case about color not race (as Aborigines are as far from Africans as Swedes) but again it's a result of mistaken belief about race and not a prejudice against a certain hue of skin. Thanks for the long comment.
