More Than Meets the Eye in Qana

The Jerusalem Post reports on the blogosphere questioning of what the world press reported about the bombing of a building in Qana. Here are the high points.

There is no convincing explanation for the 7 or 8 hour delay between the bomb or missile strike (around 1 am) and the building's collapse around 8 am that same day.

The injuries to the children photographed are inconsistent with crush injuries from a building collapse.

Some of the children look as if they have been dead for days (deeply sunken eyes is a giveaway).
Many of the 'rescue' workers are immaculate (even the hard to keep clean black BDUs) which is inconsistent with digging in concrete dust and debris.

The time stamps on the photos (if accurate) show clearly that the photos were staged. See here, here and here for an explanation of the problem. Michelle Malkin has her take as well.

I'm sure more facts and questions will be uncovered in the next few days, but it is unlikely that they will receive the massive coverage (accompanied by blame on Israel) which the photos of dead children received.

Interesting.

Did you notice that on the originals there are no time and date marks? Were they photoshoped out, or were they added later?

Also, I heard that the building may have collapsed due to a later explosion.

Finally, no matter how despicable it would be for this to be staged, those kids are still dead.

True. The worst photo I saw was almost a month ago and it showed a little girl about 12-14 dead in a field in Lebanon. Very effecting. You asked if Hezbollah can fire from inside a house. Check this out: http://powerlineblog.com/archives/014869.php

Thanks for the comment.

Very good video.

I wonder if they could produce something like that for the building in Qana?

All modern fighters and helicopters (not to mention the 'spotters' for laser guided bombs--as in the video) have 'gun' cameras so there would pretty much have to be video of the strikes on the buliding (only one of two missiles detonated according to the Israelis) and then nearby strikes later in the morning. I'd be interested in seeing the video, too.

I meant the video that would show the rockets that were ostesbily fired from the building that was destroyed.

But the building being hit would be a good one too.
