The reason there are so few female politicians is that it is too much trouble to put makeup on two faces.

You realize this quote is a joke about the nature of politics, don't you? Anyway, good observations about increasing old male vanity. I might even sucumb to it one day.
When Tony and Cherie made their camera debut first thing in the morning... "Oh dear, we only popped out to collect the milk bottle on the doorstep...we didn`t realise the international press were camped outside,... really we didn`t...."
The one thing which was wonderfully visible was Tony wore full camera make-up.
Yes, of course we ladies realise it`s a joke on politics, but it`s a sexist joke on politics.
And seeker is right, male cosmetic products are fast becoming an extremely lucrative business....
something we women always knew...
that you boys are pretty vain little creatures too...!
So I guess there`s no real difference, if politicians are going to be two-faced, even the men will have two sets of make-up to worry about.
