Who Kidnapped The Unit?

One of the few network shows I watch is The Unit, kind of a 21st Century version of Mission Impossible meets Combat, created by David Mamet. It's politics have always seemed sound to me. But last season the Unit was being hounded by rogue CIA agents and questioned by Democrat Congressmen and they ran away. Last week one of the wives said that this Country is being run by a few families and has been from the beginning. What? I think I read something similar to that on Daily Kos.

So it turns out there is an unnamed rogue element in an unnamed government office and they are serious and murderous and they have a boat with prisoners on it and they execute them from time to time, oh and they will torture an American to get a false confession. That's pretty evil, I'm thinking.

So the Unit tracks down the middle management bad guy and Jonas tell him the Unit knows everything and the middle management guy counters: After the next election, they will free all the prisoners from Guantanamo and the Democrats will prevent effective reaction to the war being waged against us. We have to keep doing this or the bad guys will be roaming New York with constitutional protections. Or something like that.

At first it sounded very reasonable to me, but then I thought, oh no, the bad guys are Republicans, again.

I think I might be purely cable in my television viewing from now on.

I TIVO House, and watch the Unit....although I fell asleep last night before the end.....

anybody catch that Caveman pilot ?

my buddy David Jones at Resurrectionsong.blog watched caveman and declared it a comedy free zone. Too bad, I liked some of the ads.

The Eunuch. Very good.

I'd watch House, but my oncologist uncle would never talk to me again. You remember uncle bubbie.

I had a moment of eye rolling when I saw that scene last week, and the same exact thought. I haven't seen this weeks episode (it is on the DVR)...Hollywood just does not seem to be able to divorce themselves from this type of idiocy.

I don't read the Daily Kos. The argument that the counntry is being run by a few families can be supported.

Rog,

Tell Uncle Bub he can watch a lawyer show that is as divorced from the reality of law as House is from medicine.

Support it. Not there are influential old families but 6 families are running the country and 250 years of political stuff is and was just a charade.

There are > than six. Start w/ Kevin Phillips'"American Dynasty."

OK I'll read your gift (thank you again) but after I finish the Black Book of Communism.
